>> 10 Things...
...that I've Learned in Conway
1. Home is where Bryan and Tebow are. Of course northwest Arkansas will always be my "home" and we hope to end up there again after Bryan finishes school, but B & T are what make my house (apartment) a home. Cliche? Yes. Truth? Most definitely.
2. The accents are a little thicker, the tea is sweet, and the people are even sweeter.
3. Traffic circles, roundabouts, whatever you want to call them....they're everywhere in Conway. Initially, this was straight up terrifying for me. Now that I'm used to them, they're actually fun. I drove around one a few times recently just for the heck of it. Living life on the edge, y'all!
4. Trucks. Big 'ole trucks. Lots of them.
5. Conway traffic can be a bear (UCA's mascot is the Bears..punny, punny right?). It has a population around 60,000 people, but it is growing rapidly. If the speed limit sign says 35, everyone goes 45. If the speed limit sign says 40, everyone goes 50. Sorry Mom! Oh, and yellow lights are really short here...whoops! Life in the "big" city.
6. Having Target, Chick-fil-A, and other stores and restaurants in the same city that I live in is mind blowing.
7. We bought a new bed when we moved. Since we got married, we had just been using the bed I grew up with. It was just a wee bit uncomfortable. Well, to say the new bed is comfy would be an understatement. I pat myself on the back every time I manage to roll of it in the mornings.
8. Even though the U of A is up north, people love their Razorbacks here! Which I, of course, love to see. :) 3-0.
9. Bryan is going to be studying constantly for the next 3 years. But he is going to be one AWESOME physical therapist. Watch out world!
10. At times, the transition to this new place has not been easy. But God has been so good to us. Seeing Him in the littlest details is so overwhelming at times. Thankful.
There you have it!
Until next time,
-AA
