>> I couldn't think of a clever title...
Hiiiiii! So it's May. Nearly the middle of May. How in the world? The older and busier I become, the quicker life moves. More reason to make each day count, to enjoy the little moments, and to be thankful for the time I do have. So with that, here are a few updates from Abramovitz land!
Bryan: Y'all, he kicked last semester in the rear (although he felt like he was the one being kicked part of the time) and wrapped up his final exams last Friday. Really proud of all of his hard work and am amazed at all he's learning. Sometimes, if I'm being honest, I feel like an idiot when he starts rattling off all of these technical science/physical therapy-ish terms that mean nothing to me. But hey! I'm learning a little here and there. So now that finals are over, he gets to enjoy a little down time for the month of May before he starts back up with summer classes in June. During his first week of vacation, Bryan had quite a few...adventures you could say. Of course, fishing has been involved along with a little "self improvement," as he referred to it. This self improvement has included cleaning out those pores and shaving the beard (which is bittersweet). I could explain further, but just see below. And brace yourself. :)

Amanda: Well, nothing too wild going on in my world. Still working at Garver, which is an awesome company with great people, so I really can't complain there {If you happen to be searching for a job, we have lots of opportunities right now! www.GarverUSA.com/JoinUs}! I've also been trying to get back into running the last few months. As some of you may know, I've tried to become a "runner" for years, but I always get to a point where the shin splints (or whatever is going on) just become unmanageable, I get discouraged, and then the shoes begin to collect dust. Back at the beginning of March, I decided to give it another shot with a different approach. I started with about 8 weeks of interval training to try and ease the 'ole legs into running again. Things were going well and I got to the point where I felt like the training program was holding me back a little and that I just needed to go on a "long" run and see how far I could last. I was pleasantly surprised with my time and distance! Then on my next run that week, I made it even further! So, I was feeling pretty good about myself and was excited to see how far the next run would take me. Well, it was ugly to say the least...and then the next run was even uglier. Too much, too fast I suppose. So, to say the wind was taken out of my sails would be an understatement. At this point, just taking a week to rest and hoping that things go a little more smoothly this week. :) If you know of any tricks for pesky lower legs, PLEASE share. I beg you.

Tebow: He's a crazy dog, folks, and brings us lots of joy. He's recently learned how to rollover, but now any time we ask him to do one of his tricks, he just automatically rolls over. Maybe we practiced too much? Anyway, he is a hoot. We've also discovered that Starbucks gives you a free "Puppucino" if you drive thru with your furry friend. It's just a small cup of their whipped cream, but Tebow has a blast. Someday we'll have to video his puppucino adventures -- they're quite comical.
Well world, that's all I've got for now. We did want to say thank you, though, to all of you who checked on us after the tornado ripped through central Arkansas a few weeks ago. We were about 7 miles from it's path and are thankful for that. But, so many of our neighbors are still hurting and will be for a long time to come. They could really use your prayers and love as they try to piece their lives back together.
Until next time,
AA
