>> Here We Go
Welcome to...The Abramoventure! Let's be honest, "The Abramovitz Adventure" would have been waaay too much of a mouthful to say. So Bryan, Tebow, and I have "officially" been residents of Conway for 2 weeks now. Many of you have been so wonderful with helping us move and get situated in a new city and checking in on us through the process. Thanks SO much! We decided that perhaps a blog would be an easy way to keep everyone { or no one, depending on who reads this :) } updated on all things Abramovitz. Obviously, we didn't move too far from our northwest Arkansas roots - just a 3 hour drive down the interstate - but sometimes it feels like a much greater distance given all the things we love that were left behind. Family, friends, our church and community group, the beautiful northwest Arkansas scenery and fun local spots, jobs that we loved...and yes, we were even sad to leave Razorback country. But all that to say, Conway has treated us great so far! Bryan hasn't started school just yet and I haven't found a job just yet, thus, we've had some great quality time together. We've been able to familiarize ourselves with the area and take advantage of some of the fun things to do in central Arkansas. Woo!
Bryan: In case you didn't know, we moved here for Bryan to begin the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at UCA. It is a rigorous program that last 3 years and this Wednesday he jumps right in! He would never tell you (and will probably be embarrassed when he sees this), but this program at UCA is very competitive and not easy to get in to. So even though he hasn't even started the program yet, I am super proud of him. I know I'm biased, but I'm certain he'll be one awesome PT! :)
Amanda: Well, I guess you could say that I'm along for the ride. I'm excited about this new adventure and thrilled that Bryan is getting to pursue his goals and follow God's calling. I've been searching for and applying to jobs for a few months now, but haven't had any luck yet. I know that God has us here for a reason and that all will work out in due time, so I'm just waiting and trusting in His plan. He always knows best. More to come on the job front...
Tebow: Y'all, he is still his crazy little self! We'd heard and read that moving might be difficult on our fur baby, but it doesn't seem to have phased him one bit. Since Bryan hasn't started school and I'm not working yet, we've been able to do lots of outdoor activities with him like hiking, jogging, walking, etc...which he has LOVED! Maybe the move will be more difficult for him when were not able to do those things as frequently with him. But right now, I think he is just lovin' his little doggy life!
We ventured off to Petit Jean State Park for some hiking, picnicking, and sightseeing a few days ago. It's just an hour or so away from our apartment, so we definitely plan to go back more. The weather and scenery was just perfect. We also went fly fishing on the Little Red River that's just north of Conway. My first attempt at fly fishing was bad news bears, but try again I shall! The river was beautiful and the mist coming off the water was creepy/cool. I think Arkansas is one of the country's best kept secrets and I hope it stays that way! Love seeing God's handiwork and thankful that we live amidst these awesome sites.
So there you have it! More to come from the Abramoventure...
