>> This & That
Bryan: School has already been very busy with lots of classes, labs, reading, and studying. Fortunately, he seems to be loving it so far! Sometimes he'll have me quiz him on different things he is learning (particularly content from his anatomy class) and man oh man, he is learning A LOT in a short amount of time. Go B!
In other news, we had our first ER experience as a married couple this past weekend. We made a quick trip up to northwest Arkansas and as we were going to sleep on Saturday night, B started complaining of a stomach ache, but seemed to be feeling better after a glass of water. Then, he started itching like crazy all over. Eventually, we got up to go look in a mirror and check things out. Y'all, his whole body was as red as a tomato, including his eyes, and hives had begun popping up all over. Considering how quickly this all happened, we thought an ER visit was in order. Obviously, he had an allergic reaction to something, but we really have no idea what...which stinks. In the ER, they gave him a Benadryl shot and a steroid shot. I wish I would have thought to take some before and after pictures of him to capture how quickly the reaction stopped, but mainly so you could see how sleepy and loopy that Benadryl shot made him. Ha! Thought I might have to drag him out of the hospital :) In all seriousness, though, very thankful that the reaction didn't cause a more serious situation.

Amanda: Last Thursday morning, my sweet friend Christine came down to Conway for a quick visit. She was able to stay to through Friday and afternoon and it was so great to have her here! We explored the city, spent some time at the pool at our apartment complex, and just enjoyed chatting and catching up. Christine also began her job hunt recently, so it's nice to have someone who can relate to the journey. So glad she could come visit! Now it's your turn to come stay...we have a comfy air mattress that awaits you :)
I started reading a book recently called One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp. I have a few chapters left and I would DEFINITELY recommend this book! It's all about thankfulness and finding joy in the small things. Sounds like topic of many books out there, right? Well let me assure you, this book is not like any others out there. It's beautiful, eye opening, and so fulfilling. The author's writing style takes some getting used to, but you'll quickly adapt to it.
Tebow: The little guy loves all things outdoor-related. Running, walking, hiking - you name it, he'll do it. We even took him on a moderate to difficult hiking trail at Petit Jean State Park and he dominated it! If you haven't gathered this already, he is FULL of energy. Before Bryan started school, we were taking him on walks every morning. I think Tebow's happy place is going on a walk with Bryan on one side and me on the other. Since Bryan started school, I've continued to take Tebow walking by myself, but I don't think he is satisfied when just one of us is walking him. Y'all, he turns into Tebow the Terrible. Let me elaborate. When I walked him this morning (or attempted to), he didn't walk beside me. Rather, he walked right behind me in between my legs. I guess he preferred to get kicked in the face with each of my steps instead of choosing to walk peacefully next to me. Throughout the walk, he would just stop all of a sudden and not want to go any further. I KNOW he is not too tired to continue at these points, so I'm not sure what's going through his little head in those moments. Eventually, once we reach the spot where we always turn around at, Tebow turns into his usual fun-loving self. Maybe it's because he knows we are going back home? And maybe, just maybe, Bryan will be there when he gets back? He is a special little pup, that's for sure :)
I'll leave y'all with a picture of my favorites. Hope all is well for you and yours :)
